The warm weather certainly hasn’t put people off purchasing home improvements from Mitchell Glass; on the contrary, it’s been one of our busiest starts to a summer ever!

So busy in fact that finding the time to blog has been difficult, but here goes. Aluminium has been the most popular material of choice with customers attracted to the slim sightlines and large expanses of glass like you regularly see on shows like Grand Designs. The durability of aluminium windows, doors and conservatories also gains customer approval. Coloured UPVC windows are also proving popular, so expect thousands of Scottish streets to be filled with an explosion of colour in the future instead of just traditional white. Solid roof sunroom replacements are selling well too amongst those looking to revive an existing extension so that it remains cool in the midday sun. A solid roof really can give it a new lease of life and reintroduce additional space back into your home so that you never feel short of room. The other thing we have seen as a result of this explosion in custom is a significant increase in visitors to our Galashiels showroom, with a number of people coming down from Edinburgh and East Lothian to explore our growing range.
