Mitchell Glass Gets Behind Gala RFC

Since being established in 1875, Mitchell Glass has become part of the fabric in Galashiels, as has Gala RFC, one of the area’s longest existing sports clubs.

Their new season has just kicked off and we are delighted to announce that Mitchell Glass is once again sponsoring the side. The locality has given us so much support over the years that we always do what we can to support worthwhile causes in the region. Specialising in Rugby Union, Gala RFC was similarly founded in 1875 and are based in Galashiels, playing their home games at Netherdale. Fondly known as the “Maroon Army” in reference to their maroon-coloured home kit, the club plies its trade in the SRU RBS Premiership, the oldest established rugby union league in the world. Gala RFC has bred several high-profile Scottish internationals over the years, including Gregor Townsend. Look out for the Mitchell Glass badge on the back of the new kit throughout the new campaign and we wish them every success for the forthcoming season. We’ve also got our fingers firmly crossed for the Scottish national side who will shortly be taking part in the Rugby World Cup, their first fixture being against Japan on 23rd September.
