3 Things You Can Do To Draw More Of The Sun Into Your House

3 ways of enticing more natural light into your home

We’re just days away now from the official beginning of spring and you can tell that by the gradual improvement in the weather and additional natural light.

A bit more sunshine is a real blessing after the darkness of winter and it can boost your home, which is why you should do everything you can to help it attract more of it.

You will know yourself that when it’s bright indoors it gives you an injection of energy and makes the place feel lovely and inviting.

Mitchell Glass knows three moves you can take to help your home hugely harness the sun:

Add Eclipse Aluminium Windows

The vast majority of light that you receive at home will come in via your windows, but if your windows have quite bulky frames, you could be missing out on a lot of it.

To fix that, just upgrade to our Eclipse aluminium windows, which have unbelievably slim frames and a very high proportion of glazing because of that. Less frame and more glass subsequently aids light transference.

Contrary to its toughness, aluminium is simple to mould and that’s why we’ve managed to develop such a slender window profile.

Once installed, the indoor atmosphere will be noticeably brighter.

Attend to any outdoor obstructions

Is there a large tree or overgrown plants and bushes sitting in the way of your windows and stopping the sun from fully breaking through?

See if you, or someone else, can do something about that by perhaps trimming or cutting them back so that your windows can fully exploit the sun and help you feel more of the benefits of it.

You will immediately feel a difference and it will also enhance indoor warmth.

Install a skylight or some roof windows

Another bright idea is to use the sky to your advantage, with plenty of it there for the taking.

One method of doing that would be to include roof windows in a solid roof if you’re looking to update an old conservatory roof, a product with an opening facility so that you can keep it well ventilated in summer.

For something more extreme than that, consider getting a skylight integrated into the ceiling of any room that receives minimal light.

It can span the entire length of the relevant space and be its main focal point, instantly capturing your attention each time you walk inside.
