3 Ways Of Adding The Feeling Of Summer To Your Home

3 ways of bringing summer into your home

It can feel like torture if you can’t get outside in summer when it’s hot and sunny and you live in a house that’s quite dark inside and feels sweltering hot at times.

You just want to break free of the space, but that’s not always possible, say, for instance, if you are having to work.

That doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the weather though. The solution? Bring the summer weather inside, but in a way where it doesn’t make you sweat.

In just three steps, you can make this possible:

Clean your windows

You need all of your windows to be as clean as they possibly can be, so get them gleaming on the inside and outside. If you don’t fancy climbing a ladder to do it, pay your local window cleaner.

Some light could be lost even when your curtains are completely open if they happen to be quick thick and bulky. For the summer, replace them with thinner, light curtains.

We mentioned overheating earlier in the piece. It could be your windows to blame for that. Upgrade to energy efficient windows and that will no longer occur.

Install bi-folding doors

Looking to get even more natural light inside? Think about having a bi-folding door integrated into a suitable section of wall, a stylish door that can feature as many as 7 glazed sections.

With a bi-fold, you can create a completely unrestricted opening as the doors fold completely at one side to leave a vast gap. This will transport so much sun into your living space, and a very welcome breeze.

You can try out so many types of opening and dictate exactly how much ventilation you receive.

Add some nature

In summer, it’s nice to get close to nature, if you can. That’s difficult though if you don’t have a garden or a park somewhere close.

To get around that, just add several houseplants around the house for display on countertops, floors and tables in various rooms. Of all the houseplants you can buy, most tend to opt for succulents, orchids and ferns.

Once you have houseplants installed, they will do a great job of taking away any air pollutants, giving you cleaner air to breathe in. Houseplants can also ease stress and make you feel happier.
