Enjoy The Sunshine In Your Sunroom
It is completely understandable that most people believe a conservatory and sunroom to be the exact same thing. That however is not the case.
Yes, they’re both forms of home extension that draw in the sun and they look alike in certain respects, but there are marked differences between the two.
What are the differences?
The traditional conservatory is predominantly made from glass, from the walls of the structure to the roof covering. This high volume of glass often results in old conservatories failing to offer sufficient protection from the sun.
The superior solidity of a sunroom and usual inclusion of a solid roof makes it feel like more of a natural living space than a conservatory which is an obvious retrospective addition to a house. The significant number of windows in a sunroom is the primary thing that differentiates it from a conventional room.
What are the benefits of a sunroom?
- Panoramic views of the outdoors
- Improves the resale value of your home
- Increases your chances of attracting buyers
- Brings your home closer to your garden
- A special setting for special occasions
How can I use a sunroom?
A sunroom is a versatile space that you can use for entertaining friends and family, lounging on the settee or admiring the garden.
Can I have input into the final sunroom design?
Well you can when you buy it from Mitchell Glass as we listen to your ideas and requirements and then create a 3d visualisation drawing of the proposed design.
If you know that you want a sunroom but you’re unsure what design will look best you can even supply us with a photograph of your home and garden and we will generate a suitable design digitally.
You can also have the design accessorised with a set of doors – French doors, bi-folding doors or patio doors.
Will I need planning permission?
Most sunrooms are considered to be a “permitted development” which means that no application for planning permission needs to be submitted.
You should always check with your local planning authority first though before going ahead with an installation that this is the case. If it transpires that planning permission is required then they will advise you of the necessary steps.
The great thing about choosing Mitchell Glass for your sunroom installation is that we will handle such obligations for you.
A sunroom is the perfect summer investment
