Property Prices Start To Rise Sharply

Housing slump, what housing slump? The property market is finally showing signs of recovery if the latest figures released by the Office for National Statistics are anything to go by.
They have found that house prices in more areas across the country than since 2006 have risen during the month of July and at the fastest rate to date so far this year. Looking forward, surveyors predict that house prices will rise by a further four per cent in each of the next five years.

It will come as a huge relief to those keen to sell their current home close to its true valuation. You could also try to increase the value of your home via other means such as:

Investing in a home extension

The installation of a conservatory or orangery could increase the overall sale price of your residence by as much as 20 per cent. The extra space it provides will compensate for any lack of spaciousness elsewhere and will therefore prove invaluable. Estate agents will definitely take it into consideration when issuing its potential price tag.

Install a new kitchen or bathroom

The kitchen and bathroom areas tend to be two of the most utilised areas in any home. If your existing kitchen or bathroom design has seen better days then getting them replaced can get your interior back on trend and give the place a far greater monetary value.

Build a garage

If the space is available then get a garage fitted. Leaving a car on the drive or road can sometimes be asking for trouble and could result in a hefty car insurance premium. A garage is much more secure and a design can always be found that sits comfortably with the rest of the house.

Buy new windows and doors

The fast rising cost of household fuel has made people more aware of how energy gets utilised in the home. Most won’t settle for living in a house that suffers with draughts so before you even think about putting the place on the market ensure that you have window and doors fitted that at least offer a ‘C’ or above rating.

Replace old furniture

The living room is the place to chill out and put your feet up. It’s also the centrepiece of many a home so it’s important that it looks good and the furniture will have a big part to play in this.
